🟢 UK Asylum Seeker Deaths Double in Just One Year
🟢 The number of asylum seekers who have died while in the care of the UK Home Office has increased by more than double in the past year. Between January and June 2024, there were 28 deaths, compared to only 13 in the same period in 2023.
🟢 This has been linked to vulnerable individuals being left in poor conditions with limited financial support. Charities expressed concern about the treatment of asylum seekers, as they believe it puts their lives at risk.
However, the Home Office has not yet commented on this concerning trend
