I am pleased to provide a detailed update on our recent excursion organized by the FIKSU National Headquarters. The trip was both enlightening and enjoyable, offering a deep dive into the rich cultural heritage of Ile-Ife.

*_Visit to the Ooni of Ife Palace_*

Our journey commenced with a visit to the esteemed Ooni of Ife Palace. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed and guided through the palace grounds by knowledgeable palace staff. The tour included an in-depth explanation of the various traditional artifacts and their historical significance. Highlights of the visit included:

- *Historical Artifacts We were shown numerous artifacts, each with its own unique story and cultural importance. The guides provided extensive background on the origins and meanings of these items, enhancing our understanding of the Yoruba heritage.
- *Architectural Marvels The palace itself is an architectural masterpiece. We were given insights into the traditional building techniques and materials used, which have stood the test of time.
- *Cultural Practices Our hosts elaborated on various cultural practices and rituals that are still observed in the palace today, giving us a glimpse into the living traditions of the Yoruba people.

*_Visit to Moremi Statue_*

After our enriching experience at the Ooni of Ife Palace, we proceeded to the statue of Moremi Ajasoro. Moremi is a revered figure in Yoruba history, celebrated for her bravery and sacrifice. At the statue, we took several photographs to capture the moment. The site offered a serene environment for reflection and appreciation of Moremi's legacy.

*_Additional Highlights_*

- *Interactive Sessions We had the opportunity to ask questions and engage with our guides, which made the experience even more informative and engaging.
- *Photography Numerous photo opportunities were available throughout the trip, allowing us to document our visit and create lasting memories.
- *Cultural Immersion The entire excursion provided a deep cultural immersion, leaving us with a greater appreciation for the rich traditions of Ile-Ife.

*_Acknowledgements_*

This memorable excursion would not have been possible without the generous support and efforts of Alh. Nurudeen. We extend our sincere appreciation to him for his invaluable contribution in making this trip a reality. His dedication and support have provided us with an unforgettable experience.

The excursion to the Ooni of Ife Palace and Moremi statue was a resounding success. It offered a profound insight into Yoruba culture and history, enriching our knowledge and appreciation for our heritage. We look forward to more such educational trips in the future.

The Managing Director, @MohdBelloKoko_, represented by the Executive Director, Marine and Operations, Engr. Olalekan Badmus, presented a goodwill message at the celebration of the Day of the Seafarers.

To corroborate with the theme of this year, “Navigating the Future: Safety First,” the Managing Director highlighted the reconstruction of the Mission to Seafarers facility in Lagos to a regional best-in-class status as a demonstration of the Authority’s resolve to improve the safety and efficiency of seafarers in Nigeria.

Beyond the fanfare, @MohdBelloKoko_ called for increased support and commitment from the maritime community to the safety and well-being of seafarers.NINTADELINE @AdemolaBello @JimohYusuf @MojeedAderemi @BambamOnif NINTADELINE @AdemolaBello @BambamOnif @MojeedAderemi
