Anthony Joshua was pure class after his defeat by Daniel Dubois. He was not bitter or emotional. He was calm. He had the presence of mind to thank everybody who bought a ticket to see him fight at Wembley.
He identified reasons for his defeat, which he said were down to his mistakes and the quality of his opponent, and did not make any excuses and announced that he would be back on his feet again.
The man even gave respect to his opponent. What a display of sportsmanship!
I am actually prouder of his calmness and introspection after such a shock than I would have been if he had won. He lost the fight but won millions of hearts.
Proper Omoluabi culture and behaviour. Whoever brought him up did an excellent service to the Lukumi people worldwide and is a credit to Nigeria.
And to those few Nigerians who mocked him, listen, even if he retires today, he has achieved more than any boxer of African origin. He will be remembered a century from today. Can you say that about yourselves or those you idolise?
AJ, you are down but not out. O ka' are omoluabi atata
