Office of the Special Assistant on Education Matters
To Hon. Olusoji Abidemi Adetunji, MHR
Representing Ifelodun, Boripe, and Odo-Otin Federal Constituency

Subject: Education Advocacy Visit to Ward 12 – Strengthening the Future Through Education

Earlier today, I had the privilege of visiting Ward 12 in Ifelodun Local Government Area, where I met with members of our great party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), and engaged in a meaningful discussion about the critical role of education in building a better future for our children and our community.

The focus of our conversation was the ongoing scholarship programme generously sponsored by Hon. Olusoji Abidemi Adetunji, MHR—a leader who has consistently demonstrated that education is one of his topmost priorities. This initiative has touched lives, brought hope to struggling families, and served as a clear example of his commitment to human capital development.

During the engagement, I shared my personal testimony: without education, I would not have been privileged to serve as the Special Assistant on Education Matters to our Honourable Member. My journey is proof that education changes destinies. It gives people from humble beginnings the opportunity to grow, lead, and serve. I urged parents, guardians, and youths in Ward 12 to embrace education as a long-term investment that yields unmatchable rewards.

The response from the people of Ward 12 was overwhelmingly positive. Community members expressed deep appreciation for Hon. Adetunji’s efforts. The Ward Secretary also openly acknowledged and commended the MHR’s work, especially in the area of education, describing it as purposeful and people-driven.

Hon. Adetunji’s scholarship initiative is just one of many impactful programs he has brought to the grassroots level. His desire to ensure no child is left behind—whether in Ward 12 or any other part of the constituency—remains evident in his consistent actions. His leadership continues to inspire hope and set a high standard of service.

As the Special Assistant on Education Matters, I reaffirm my commitment to advancing this vision. I will continue to work hand in hand with party leaders, youth groups, and educational stakeholders across Ifelodun to spread awareness, promote enrollment, and support every effort geared toward academic excellence.

God bless PDP.
God bless Ward 12.
God bless Hon. Olusoji Abidemi Adetunji.
God bless Ifelodun Local Government.
God bless Osun State.

That's a deep and important question: What does it take to be a millionaire?
Is it about being educated, or is it something else?

Here's the honest answer:

1. Education Helps—but It's Not Everything

Formal education (like school and university) gives you knowledge and structure, but many millionaires don’t have high degrees.

Financial education (understanding money, investing, savings, and business) is more important than just going to school.

Example: Some people with PhDs still struggle financially, while some school dropouts build empires.

2. Skills Matter More Than Certificates

Skills like problem-solving, marketing, negotiation, leadership, and sales make people rich.

Learning how to provide value (solve problems for others) is a big key.

Even learning a digital skill (like coding, graphics, content creation, or social media marketing) can make you rich if you use it well.

3. Mindset is Everything

Millionaires think differently. They:

Take calculated risks

Don't fear failure

Stay consistent

Keep learning

Believe they can succeed (even when others doubt them)

4. Discipline and Smart Money Habits

Millionaires save, invest, and grow their money, not just spend it.

They avoid unnecessary debt and build assets (like businesses, properties, or stocks).

5. Connections and Timing

Meeting the right people can open doors.

Sometimes, it's also about being at the right place at the right time, and knowing how to grab the opportunity.

So, is it education that makes someone a millionaire?

Not directly. Education can help, especially if it's the right kind of education—but it's not the only or biggest factor.

If you want to be a millionaire, focus on:

1. Learning high-value skills
2. Thinking like an entrepreneur
3. Being financially smart
4. Taking action consistently

FROM THE OFFICE OF THE SPECIAL ASSISTANT ON EDUCATION MATTERS
TO HON. OLUSOJI ADETUNJI ABIDEMI (MHR)
Member Representing Ifelodun, Boripe, and Odo-Otin Federal Constituency

FIELD REPORT: VISIT TO ST. PAUL PRIMARY SCHOOL 1 & 2, IKIRUN

Date: Tuesday, 10th July 2025

In continuation of our commitment to promoting grassroots educational development, I paid a visit to St. Paul Primary School 1 & 2 in Ikirun on Tuesday, 10th July 2025. The objective of the visit was to inspire the pupils, encourage them to take ownership of their educational journey, and emphasize the value of both academic and vocational pursuits.

The session was highly interactive and engaging. The pupils actively participated, sharing their dreams and aspirations with great enthusiasm. Notably, Asihat and Abibat expressed their passion for becoming teachers, reflecting their early interest in education and mentoring. Toheeb and Taiwo spoke about their desire to become fashion designers, while Oluwatobi confidently shared her dream of becoming a medical doctor, demonstrating a clear commitment to serving humanity through healthcare.

During the interaction, I stressed the importance of education as the foundation for a purposeful and successful life. I also shared my personal story, highlighting how access to education paved the way for my current role as the Special Assistant on Education Matters. This real-life example served to illustrate the transformative power of education and the opportunities it can unlock.

I also underscored the need to integrate practical and vocational subjects—such as Marketing, Fishery, Tailoring, ICT, and Craftsmanship—into our basic education curriculum. These subjects are critical for equipping young learners with relevant, hands-on skills that foster creativity, self-reliance, and long-term empowerment. This aligns with the federal government’s broader vision for youth development and national growth.

The visit was both inspiring and insightful. The enthusiasm of the pupils and the appreciation shown by the teachers reaffirmed our belief in the immense potential within our schools. It was a poignant reminder that our children are filled with dreams—and that it is our collective responsibility to nurture and guide them toward achieving those dreams.

I remain steadfast in my commitment to supporting the educational vision of Hon. Olusoji Adetunji Abidemi, MHR, and to ensuring that the children of Ifelodun, Boripe, and Odo-Otin Federal Constituency are equipped with the tools, knowledge, and encouragement they need to become the leaders, innovators, and changemakers of tomorrow.

FROM THE OFFICE OF THE SPECIAL ASSISTANT ON EDUCATION MATTERS
TO HON. OLUSOJI ADETUNJI ABIDEMI (MHR)
Member Representing Ifelodun, Boripe, and Odo-Otin Federal Constituency

REPORT ON VISIT TO BAPTIST DAY PRIMARY SCHOOL, Oko-Iroko, Ikirun

With deep appreciation for the privilege to serve under your leadership, I humbly wish to report my visit to Baptist Day Primary School, located in Oko-Iroko, Ikirun. The purpose of the visit was to engage with both staff and pupils on the importance of education and its long-term value in nation-building and personal development.

During my interaction, I emphasized how education has been the gateway to opportunities—sharing my personal story of how I wouldn’t have had the honor to serve in this capacity if not for the foundational importance of quality education. I urged the pupils to remain committed, focused, and grateful for the chance they have to learn.

Additionally, I encouraged the inclusion of practical trade subjects like Marketing, Fishery, Agriculture, and Technical Skills. This aligns with the government’s vision of producing creative, skillful, and self-reliant youth who can thrive in a fast-changing economy. It is crucial that our curriculum equips students with both academic and vocational competence.

The visit was very interactive and inspiring. The students eagerly expressed their dreams—ranging from becoming doctors, teachers, engineers, entrepreneurs, and more. It was heartwarming to see their enthusiasm and belief in a brighter future.

This kind of engagement is vital in nurturing young minds and reminding them that with education, there are no limits to what they can become.
