Philanthropist, Engr. Prince Adeniran Kilomodemo Ibitoye also known as KLM says the role of traditional rulers in National development cannot be overemphasized, given their closeness to the grassroots, their knowledge about their domains and what their people need.
KLM, who is also a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Osun State made this assertion when he visited the Olojudo of Ido Osun Alayemore Kingdom, HRM Oba Olayinka Oyetunde Ishola Jokotola II, Ilufemiloye 1 at his palace.
It was gathered that KLM visited the Monarch after attending the inter-house sports competition of YTD Primary School, Ido Osun, and later paid unscheduled visit to our revered political leader, Pa Gbadebo Ajao at his country home which is just some metres away from the school.
"It was a pleasure for me to visit Oba Oyetunde and no gain saying the fact that our Traditional Institution is a force to reckon with when it comes to National development in the country, in fact, it would be easier to tackle insecurity if our government understand how they can work with the traditional rulers, because, they understand their territories, hence they know the best way to ensure security of lives and property in their domains'
KLM said he has known Oba Jokotola for over 20years, adding that Oba Oyetunde took him round to see the ongoing palace project which is planned to be completed soon as he urged all well meaning sons and daughters of the town and other stakeholders to support the project.
"It has been a long time coming, I have known Oba Oyetunde for well over twenty years and I am very delighted that he is on the throne of his forefathers, not just that, but, he has displayed commitment to the progress of Ido Osun and I want to use this opportunity to urge all well meaning individuals to join hands with the Monarch in moving the town forward, not just that, but, I also want to canvass for the support of the ongoing palace project" KLM said.
In his remarks, the Monarch appreciated KLM for visiting him, noting that it was a delight for him to host the Odo-Otin Prince, whom he has known for over twenty years.
