Ikirun, Osun State, Nigeria - The Agunbe Descendants Union (ADU) has issued a strong warning against the use of landgrabbers, violence, and fraudulent sales of land in Ikirun.
The union condemned the rising incidents of:
1. Landgrabbing and violence in property disputes.
2. Selling one parcel of land to two or more people, leading to unnecessary conflicts.
We urge all parties involved in property transactions to ensure transparency, honesty, and adherence to the law, said SouthWest Region Representative of the Agunbe Descendants Union. The use of landgrabbers, violence, and fraudulent sales of land undermines the peace and stability of our community.
The ADU called on the relevant authorities, including the Osun State Government, Nigeria Police Force, and regulatory agencies, to take decisive action against perpetrators of these illegal activities.
We appeal to the government and security agencies to protect the rights of legitimate property owners, prevent multiple sales of land, and bring perpetrators to justice,
The Agunbe Descendants Union reiterated its commitment to promoting peace, unity, and development in Ikirun, and urged all stakeholders to work together to achieve these goals.
