Rest on Alhaja Belau Olarinde
It is with a heavy heart that I write this tribute, though words feel insufficient to capture the essence of such an extraordinary woman Alhaja Belahu Olarinde the Iyalode of Ikirun.
Iyalode will be remembered as a beacon of truth, and courage. A true leader in every sense, she had an unwavering commitment to standing by the truth, even when it wasn’t the popular choice.
From the moment I got to know her from my younger age, she embraced us with kindness and grace, showing true love to all, even without knowing what the future held for us. Her unwavering support for me, particularly our palace experiences from the day I was installed as a traditional chief Elemo of Ikirun, She stood by my side, till she departed this sinful world, a testament to her boundless loyalty and care, it’s a memory I will treasure forever.
Though she grew older, we all still saw her as the vibrant and youthful soul who brought joy and strength to those who knew her in our town Ikirun, Osun state and beyond . Her wisdom and leadership were cherished by children, grandchildren, families, and friends alike. Her absence leaves a void that cannot be filled, but her legacy will forever inspire us.
We love you deeply Alhaja Belahu Olarinde the Iyalode of Ikirun , but God loves you more. Rest well, wife,Mother, Leader, and Friend. You will be deeply missed, but your spirit and the lessons you taught us will remain with us always.
High Chief Bamidele Onifade
The Elemo-Oluomo of Ikirun.
