2024 NFL Draft Predicting Rams trade up scenarios

The Los Angeles Rams Bobby Wagner Jersey have been rumored to be eyeing a trade-up now for weeks, and that buzz isn't going away anytime soon. While no deals will likely come until draft day, it's important to look ahead at what a potential deal could look like, using prior NFL draft trades as examples.Starting off, I feel like it's important to list the capital that the Rams have in this year's draft:Round 1, Pick 19Round 2, Pick 52Round 3, Pick 83Round 3, Pick 99Round 5, Pick 154Round 5, Pick 155Round 6, Pick 196Round 6, Pick 209Round 6, Pick 213Round 6, Pick 217Round 7, Pick 254The Rams have no fourth-round pick but do po se s two thirds to help make up the difference. It's helpful, in my opinion, to keep in mind the amount of picks the Rams can offer in this year's draft.Prior NFL tradesI'll be looking at trades over the last decade to really establish precedence. I will be ignoring trades that go for a top-five pick, as that feels unattainable and unrealistic for the Rams. What I will be focusing on is trades around where the Rams pick (in the teens/early 20s) up into the top-10 or so selections.2016:ClevelandBrowns traded their first- and sixth-round selections (8thand176th) to the Tenne seeTitans in exchange for Tenne see's first- and third-round Andrew Whitworth Jersey selections (15thand76th) as well as its2017second-round selection.2018:Oaklandtraded a first-round selection (10th) toArizonain exchange for Arizona's first-, third-, and fifth-round selections (15th,79th, and152nd)2018:Cincinnatitraded first- and sixth-round selections (12thand187th) toBuffaloin exchange for Buffalo's first- and fifth-round selections (21stand158th) and offensive tackleCordy Glenn.2019:Denver traded a Tyler Higbee Jersey first-round selection (10th) to Pittsburgh in exchange for Pittsburgh's first- and second-round selections (20thand52nd) as well as their third-round selection in20202021:New York traded its first-round selection (11th overall) to Chicago in exchange for first and fifth-round selections (20th and 164th overall), alongside their 2022 first and fourth-round selections.2022:Washington traded its first-round selection (11th overall) to New Orleans in exchange for a first-, third- and fourth-round selections (16th, 98th and 120th overall). While the Rams might not be willing to part with their first-round pick next (see Chicago), keep in mind that that trade was for a quarterback and had a bit more premium attached to it. As for the rest, most of these are a first-round pick and some change on Days 2 & 3 and/or a future pick in exchange for the higher pick and usually (but not always) a pick on day 3.These deals are extremely affordable for the Rams, who po se s a whopping 11 picks in this year's draft. The Rams will also receive a third-round compensatory selection in next year's draft for the hiring of Raheem Morris, something that only helps their capital for a move up.What would a Rams trade up be?This is closer to spit-balling territory than I'd like, buthypotheticallylet's say the Rams are looking to move up to the eighth spot with Atlanta. The eight pick in 2016 went for the 15th pick, 76th pick, and a second-rounder in 2017. The Rams pick at 19 and not Earnest Brown IV Jersey 15, but there isn't a between these two picks. A deal could look something like this:Atlanta trades: 8th overall+187thLA trades: 19th overall, 83rd, 154 and a 2025 second/third-round pickIf they didn't want to include a future pick, they could include both third-round picks this year, 83 and 99.The important thing is that all but one of these trades do not involve a second-round pick. If the Rams can follow that trend and keep their second-round pick while still moving up, that would be the best-case scenario here. That pick at 52nd overall still puts them in David Edwards Jersey position to draft a quality player at a different position from R1, whether that be an OT, WR, EDGE, CB, or DT.Ideally, the Rams adopt an aggre sive approach with their later picks and Snead lives up to his mantra regarding draft picks, as the depth in this year's draft falls apart quickly.Do you want the Rams to trade up this year to continue building around Matthew Stafford?
