The act of a man kneeling to propose to a woman is not a historical tradition African cultures. It is a custom adopted more recently through global influence and mostly the use of social media. Therefore, an African man who chooses not to do it is simply adhering to the cultural norms he was raised with, where such a public gesture of submission is not the standard practice. His refusal is not a lack of love, but a different cultural expression of commitment.
True African values are built on love, care, and profound respect, which are demonstrated in many ways not by a man kneeling down.
